South Park Surgery Center located in the South Park area of Charlotte NC seeks experienced Operating Room Nurse is to provide care for patients before, during and after surgery. This position is part-time nonexempt, with the working hours of: Monday through Friday, 7:00a-4p, days may vary. No weekends or holidays and no required on-call status. Prior Operating Room experience required.

The Registered Nurse ASC is expected to work in a primary nursing area for the center.  The Registered Nurse ASC is able to function as a team member in an ASC environment through cross-training to other primary areas including but not limited to assisting with turnover, and all other aspects of day-to-day ASC operations.  He/she is also responsible for the coordination of the telephone pre-admission assessment process for patients in the ASC environment.

Job Requirements

Education and/or Experience:

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; Associate's degree required, BSN preferred. BSN required. (1) year of Ambulatory Surgery Center, PACU or Operating Room experience preferred.  Previous pediatric experience a plus.

 

Skills and Abilities:

  • Must have a thorough understanding of role as a RN and ability to carry out the functions as stated in the NC Nurse practice act.
  • Ability to set priorities and organize workload of unit.
  • Knowledge and skills necessary to modify care according to patient's age.
  • Ability to interpret information to identify each patient's requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs.
  • Proficient in telephone screening and interviewing skills.
  • Customer Service and organizational skills, data entry, written and verbal communication skills, maintain positive team oriented attitude with an attention to details.
  •  Network computer software applications, practice management software and applicable electronic medical record software
  •  Ability to follow procedures and processes in accordance to CEENTA standards (may vary by specialty and/ or physician)
  • Maintain proficiency in machines utilized to perform duties

 

Certificates and License:

Current RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner in the state in which you work and reside. Current ACLS, BLS and PALS for Healthcare Provider status according to American Heart Association required.
